The company we know today as Panasonic originally began as Matsushita Electric Housewares Manufacturing Works in 1918. With a three-person team, the company began producing sockets which were of higher quality and lower price than many on the market. Challenges from competitors hit the company hard, but connections made directly with wholesalers kept the business afloat.
In 1951, the company took its first steps into the household product market. After a business research trip to America, the Matsushita instructed staff to create a fully-functioning washing machine to liberate homeowners from household chores. The following year it began the production of black-and-white TVs and two years following expanded its range by adding refrigerators.
Matsushita officially changed its name to Panasonic in 2008, long after it cemented its roots in the household appliance world.
Panasonic is an award-winning company you can rely on, but as you use your products in day-to-day life, they begin to wear down and incur damage. We stock quality spare parts for Panasonic household appliances to revitalise your old items.
